As a result I no longer trust the brand and will not purchase their products again. I have contacted them two more times and have not received any response. I opened a ticket with customer service and they responded once with an email that gave me instructions that could not be followed because there was no way to do what they said to do. Every time my account security is checked it tells me my info is safe and that I haven’t been found in any data breaches. Bitdefender account security has been dead silent. I have been notified 4 or more times by my bank about my personal information being found on the dark web due to different data breaches in the last two years. I say that because when there is a data breach and your info is compromised and found on the dark web the app is supposed to let you know so you can take action. Hopefully this gets resolved in the near future as I really do like their security software overall, I just can’t recommend it to anyone in its current state. I’ve been using the app with that feature disabled and haven’t had any issue in a few days now so I’m pretty convinced this was causing my issue. I honestly think the culprit is with the web protection feature in Bitdefender cutting off all web traffic inadvertently.
The problem is that there is no indication that WiFi is having issues until you try to open a web-based app or browse the web and notice it isn’t working. The fix has always been to disable and then reenable WiFi.
Sometimes WiFi would be working fine and then out of no where it stops resolving websites. My biggest issue is with the constant interference with WiFi connections. It’s nice to see it blocking ads in Apps that I never knew was reaching out to potentially malicious servers.
